International Mediterranean film festival is a five day long festival of movies from the Mediterranean region which the audience from Split and Croatia doesn’t have the chance to see in regular movie distribution. Festival will take place in “Zlatna Vrata” cinema during the day, and in an open-air cinema in the evening. Festival program also includes concerts, parties, round table and other interesting events.

We started the festival because we believe that Split needs an event of this kind. As the second biggest city in Croatia and one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, Split deserves to have a respectable international film festival. Our main goal is to create a festival that will take place in the center of Split in open areas, and that will fill the city streets with people. We will try to create a festival that the audience can call “their own”. We want the festival to live through Split, and Split to live trough the festival.

Mediterranean was our choice because Split and Croatia are a part of that region. It has rich history, culture and tradition, and we believe it has often been unfairly neglected. We also want to emphasize that, since there are only a few festivals of Mediterranean film in Europe, we have an opportunity to bring together the most important films from the entire Mediterranean. We want Split’s festival to be unique in Croatia and to stand out from festivals that usually represent six continents. With original ideas, strong visual identity and advertising, with different projects and international cooperation with Mediterranean countries, we want to make Split and Croatia centers of Mediterranean culture in this region.

WELCOME to the festival and get hooked on the movies!
